This modern piano comes from a rich history of American piano design and manufacture, spanning back to the mid 19th century. Beginning with Henry F. Miller, a classically trained musician who founded his company in Boston in 1863 and later moved production to Wakefield, Massachusetts with his five sons under the name Henry F. Miller & Sons by the 1880s. These instruments were known for their rich, warm tone, balanced action, elegant cabinetry, and solid construction, which made them popular with concert pianists, teachers, and music lovers in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Early models included upright, grand, and square pianos, and the company even produced “pedal pianos” equipped with full pedal boards for organ practice. Vintage Henry F. Miller pianos were built with quality woods like solid spruce soundboards and robust frames, features that help well-restored examples remain in use today and appreciated for both musical and aesthetic value.

Over time, the original company underwent multiple ownership changes; by the late 1920s it became part of the Continental Piano Company and later, through further acquisitions, ended up under corporate control with manufacturing moving out of New England. Today the Henry F. Miller brand name lives on and blends traditional design with contemporary production techniques.  This one comes with a matching bench and a 5 year guarantee on parts and labor.
