Contemporary Music Ensemble

This is an exciting class available to kids who want to learn how to play in the band! It’s much more than just putting kids together and having them play basic rock tunes.

We have a custom designed curriculum involving music theory, musicality, music history, technology and music business, and much more reasonable prices than most schools out there!

The music ensemble is for intermediate to advanced students who have a basic understanding of notes, chords, and scales.

Course Description

Contemporary Music Ensemble students will study and perform the music of a variety of genres from popular artists old and current. They will participate in weekly, supervised rehearsals while learning the traits, responsibilities, and artistry of being in a band.

The ensemble will work initially with our proven music curriculum with music charts provided by the instructor. Then, the students can have a chance to submit their own choices of songs to be learned.

There will be focused discussions on the history of the artist in study and the stylistic approach required to execute the song. Students will learn to read music charts, play in tune, listen to their fellow bandmates, and learn how to give and receive constructive criticism.

Students are required to practice several times throughout the week and have the music rehearsed to the best of their ability before each practice. The ensemble will perform a 30 minute concert at the end of the semester.
